Today I decided to start this blog about getting my kids ready for the world. I have been thinking about a way to make my self accountable for preparing for all the changes that are coming our way. I thought about writing letters to my husband but he does not have the time to read it and even if he did, he would probably not agree with me on a few topics. I also thought about taking notes on a notebook…. but I always end up loosing those. So, this will be my everyday reflection of what needs to be done to get my kids ready for the world.
It comes at a time in which I have about 512 days to get Valeria ready for school.
I have two kids: Valeria and Lucas. Valeria is my eldest. She was born in September 6, 2010. A beautiful tiny bean. At 6 pounds 4 ounces, she has filled our lives with lots of love and excitement.
Valeria currently attends the nursery here in Oxford. It is a very nice nursery but I am afraid I trust them too much for getting her ready for her life ahead. I need to be more hands on and it is no easy task for me. So, I will just write a collect information about what may be important to consider. I will do it the only way I know (I am an academic), by ready the literature and reflecting on it and then, by making lists of what needs to be done and hope to check at least half of what I aim to do in those lists.
If you have any tips, advice or nice comments, I would really appreciate anything that can help me in this task of raising two well rounded, intelligent and happy kids!
